In lieu of his Annual Program, Dr. Brightman will be offering an ALL-NEW program “Overcoming the 5 Most Common Student Complaints on Teacher Evaluation Surveys.”  This 2-day program will be conducted via Zoom on April 19 and 20 from 1-4:30 pm, EST.

Dr. Brightman has served as a teaching mentor at the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University for over 20 years. He has also mentored faculty in Business, Liberal Arts, and Medicine at several other schools in the USA and worldwide. As a result, he has reviewed thousands of student evaluations of instructor surveys.  He observed a repetitive pattern of poor evaluations. This workshop focuses on fixing these student evaluation-destroying complaints.

DAY 1

1:00 - 2:35 pm
1. Course is disorganized: Learn to design course frameworks or diagrams that will minimize the students’ complaint that your courses are disorganized.

2:35 - 2:55 pm

2:55 - 4:30 pm
2a. Teacher’s lecture is confusing!: The first step is to write serious objectives at all learning levels. Learn how to use scaffolding to help students achieve your critical thinking objectives. Part II below


DAY 2

3. Too many slides: The MINIMIZATION will optimally reduce your number of slides.
2b. Teacher's lecture is confusing II: Apply the Five Sticky Principles to deliver clear and memorable presentations.

2:35 - 2:55 pm

2:55 - 4:30 pm
4. Teacher reads the slides - boring!: Apply Best Design Principles to deliver improved lecture flow and PowerPoint slide readability.  
5. Need more class interaction: Use the think-pair-share cooperative learning method for excellent classroom discussions. TPS will also help your students to achieve your critical thinking objectives.
